BONAVENTURE CEMETERY, SAVANNAH, GEORGIA. I've always been fascinated with cemeteries, and photographing them, for the peace and beauty I find in these final resting places. I first visited Bonaventure in the summer of 2010. I had recalled that the opening sequence of one of my favorite films, Clint Eastwood's "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil", was filmed there. I was captivated by the solemn beauty, the light breezes blowing in from the Wilmington River, giving gentle sway to the Spanish moss hanging from the avenues of oak trees.
